GENevA – the call centre at the heart of the party’s election campaigning is a fantastic way to get involved in helping us to win the next general. PPC’s frequently provide pizza and wine for any volunteers on hand, and it’s a great opportunity to meet other young Tories, as well as ministers and staff in positions of power.

Well done to Mr Friend our TWITS Chief Whip who has recently become Chair of Culture, Media and Sport at the Bow Group: the oldest – and one of the most influential – centre-right Think-Tanks in Britain.

Through my personal experience I am certain that Mr Friend is the right man for the job and, on behalf of all the TWITS, I wish him the best of luck in his new post.

And I was pleased to lend a hand at the GenEVA canvassing session at CCHQ (Conservative Party HQ) last night for the delightful Christopher Pincher, all round legend. This was followed by some responsible drinking with the CF chaps and chappetes, a swift sojourn to the Red Lion and a slightly less well judged final round at the International where I got into a fight heated debate about the merits of getting involved in the NUS with ex-CF Chairman and now PPC (see some of us do end up in real politics!) Paul Bristow, who though clearly flawed in this one point, is otherwise awesome.
