These were taken for my uni project but I’m not using them so thought I’d put them up here. The colours are more saturated but photobucket is a bitch and does that to images. Inspired by the incredible Hannah Starkey of course. I have a few spare prints if someone’s willing to exchange some hard earned dolla dolla for one? Totally in need of some at the mo.

Black and white portraits from today’s studio session. Found my cable release and did these self portraits today, experimenting with transferring on different paper types. The really annoying thing about the Fuji instant films is that sometimes they all get stuck together when you pull them out and the whole thing is wasted. Which happened today. 10 quid down the drain. Eek.

Photography and masturbation are both different forms of creating life. The former being so much more satisfying. These are my first (ever) instant film transfers that I created tonight. Testing, playing with the medium. The technique obviously has to be improved but I’m happy something came out. I was limited to photographing things within my immediate environment.

Mamiya RB67 + Polaroid Back + Studio + Fuji FP100C

Some more experiments in the studio. I only bought one pack of fuji film so I only had ten shots to take. I took those standard studio ones in the previous post so I decided to change the setting around and play with the lighting. I always wanted to try the back lit effect with some light still falling on the subject. Still have three more I will put up on the weekend, those are my favourites. For now, enjoy:

Had a booking for the studio today at uni with Petra, Iris and Vicki who are also hereby known as my babes. I’ve actually never used a studio properly before, they’re so intimidating and I don’t know much about lighting. These are just test shots, so excuse how technically lame they may be. I got some better ones which I shall post soon so do hold your breath. Until you turn blue.
