These were taken for my uni project but I’m not using them so thought I’d put them up here. The colours are more saturated but photobucket is a bitch and does that to images. Inspired by the incredible Hannah Starkey of course. I have a few spare prints if someone’s willing to exchange some hard earned dolla dolla for one? Totally in need of some at the mo.

Black and white portraits from today’s studio session. I have loads of new images but I want to show them all together as a series (they’re for my uni project), and also photobucket is fucking with the colours of my images so I need to figure that out. Studio tests today with Petra.

If I could describe January in terms of a train, it would most certainly be the Hong Kong Airport Express, as it’s passing under Tsing Ma Bridge. If you’ve been on it you’ll know, maybe. Anyways here are some moments from this month.

That night my bathtub decided to regurgigate the collective shit again. Lovely. This is the tub in it’s better state, you should’ve seen it and smellt it on the night. Said hello to showering and shitting at friend’s places for a week again.

There were dark days where it was snowing outside and I was watching the beauty from the warmth of my room.

My lovely Eman came back and not a moment too soon! Dinner catch-up sesh at The Diner.

And this ends my black and white film-using phase. Totally over it. Can’t develop a good roll to save my life, or a turtles’.

Some more experiments in the studio. I only bought one pack of fuji film so I only had ten shots to take. I took those standard studio ones in the previous post so I decided to change the setting around and play with the lighting. I always wanted to try the back lit effect with some light still falling on the subject. Still have three more I will put up on the weekend, those are my favourites. For now, enjoy:

Had a booking for the studio today at uni with Petra, Iris and Vicki who are also hereby known as my babes. I’ve actually never used a studio properly before, they’re so intimidating and I don’t know much about lighting. These are just test shots, so excuse how technically lame they may be. I got some better ones which I shall post soon so do hold your breath. Until you turn blue.

It’s been raining like MAD recently. Cycled over to Petra’s in the rain for a healthy vegetarian meal that she cooked me (since she turned me vegetarian two weeks ago). Got there completely soaked and she dressed me up in her legging things. Fashion statement?

Vegetarian Spag Bol is actually really nice.
